Fulfillment Team Member
About the Role
Fulfillment Team Members are the engine of Initiative Distribution. You’ll pick and pack orders across our client roster — brands that ship everything from scientific collectibles to tabletop games to grill parts — and help make sure every package that leaves the building is right. The work is fast-paced and repetitive, and that’s exactly the point. If you take satisfaction in doing something well, consistently, at volume, this is a good fit.
We’re a small operation and we work across areas. You’ll start on the order floor, and as you learn more clients and build more skills, more hours and more responsibility open up.
What You’ll Do
- Pick and pack orders accurately and at pace across multiple client accounts
- Follow client-specific packing and labeling requirements
- Support inventory counts, scanning, and barcoding projects as needed
- Assist with fabrication and assembly tasks as you learn them
- Keep your packstation stocked, clean, and ready for the next shift
- Carry a walkie and check Slack while on site — communication is part of the job
What We’re Looking For
- Attention to detail — accuracy matters more than anything else in this role
- Ability to maintain focus through repetitive work over a full shift
- Dependable; this is a team where everyone’s work affects everyone else’s
- Comfortable on your feet, able to lift and move through the day
- Able to read and write, and comfortable using a computer to record data — scanners, spreadsheets, and simple order/inventory software are part of the daily job
- No prior warehouse experience required — reliability and a willingness to learn are what count
Hours & Communication
Hours range from part-time to full-time and scale with volume. Surge hours are expected during our clients’ peak seasons — most heavily during the roughly six-week holiday shipping season, with other busy periods around client needs. Slack is required and is how our whole team handles scheduling, communication, and reporting.
Why Initiative Distribution
We’re a boutique 3PL in Upper Tract, West Virginia handling interesting clients with real complexity. The team is small enough that what you do matters, and the work is varied enough that there’s always something to learn. Cross-train into fabrication and assembly, build your knowledge of a client account, and grow into a Team Lead role — the path is there if you want it.
Every package that leaves this building has Upper Tract, West Virginia on the return address. We take that seriously.
Apply through this process - and only this process
The application below is the only way to be considered. Do not contact our staff directly about openings - by phone, in person, on social media, or through anyone who works here. Everyone on the team is busy doing the work, and we ask you to respect that the same way we'll respect your time once you're in the process.
We're a process-oriented company. Going around the process is the first strike against an application, because how you handle this tells us how you'll handle the job. Apply here, and we'll review every submission and get back to you.
