Seasonal Fulfillment Team Member (Holiday)
About the Role
This is a temporary, seasonal position built around our busiest stretch of the year. From roughly October through the end of December, order volume climbs fast as our clients’ brands hit their holiday peak, and we bring on extra hands to keep every package moving. You’ll pick and pack orders across our client roster and help make sure every box that leaves the building is right.
Be clear-eyed about what this is: a short-term holiday role, not a permanent job. It ends when the peak season winds down. If you’re looking for seasonal work, extra income through the holidays, or a way to earn while you’re between other things, this is a good fit.
What You’ll Do
- Pick and pack orders accurately and at pace across multiple client accounts
- Follow client-specific packing and labeling requirements
- Support inventory counts, scanning, and barcoding projects as needed
- Keep your packstation stocked, clean, and ready for the next shift
- Carry a walkie and check Slack while on site - communication is part of the job
What We’re Looking For
- Attention to detail - accuracy matters more than anything else in this role
- Ability to maintain focus through repetitive work over a full shift
- Dependable through the whole season; peak weeks are when the team needs you most
- Comfortable on your feet, able to lift and move through the day
- Able to read and write, and comfortable using a computer to record data - scanners, spreadsheets, and simple order/inventory software are part of the daily job
- No prior warehouse experience required - reliability and a willingness to learn are what count
Hours & Communication
This role runs through the holiday shipping season, most heavily during the roughly six-week peak that lands in November and December. Hours are heavier than a normal stretch of the year and scale with volume, and we’ll ask you to be available through the busy weeks. Slack is required and is how our whole team handles scheduling, communication, and reporting.
A Note on What Comes After
Seasonal work is temporary by design, and we hire for it as temporary. That said, the holidays are how we get to know people. Team members who are dependable, careful, and easy to work with are the first we think of when permanent hours open up. Plenty of good long-term hires started as seasonal help. No promises, but the door is open.
Why Initiative Distribution
We’re a boutique 3PL in Upper Tract, West Virginia handling interesting clients with real complexity. The team is small enough that what you do matters, even for a season, and the work is varied enough that there’s always something to learn.
Every package that leaves this building has Upper Tract, West Virginia on the return address. We take that seriously, holiday rush included.
